Speaker: Dr. Sam Shamardi
Board-certified dentist Dr. Sam Shamardi earned his dentistry degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he was class president four years running. After earning his degree, he trained for a periodontal certificate at the University of Pennsylvania Periodontal Program. While training, he received education on nonsurgical and surgical treatments for things like sinus lifts, implants, bone and tissue regeneration, crown lengthening, and more. Dr. Shamardi's education and experience have allowed him the unique opportunity to understand the restorative aspect of the dentistry profession, as well as proper treatment planning. Dr. Shamardi is proud to belong to American Board of Periodontology (diplomate) and specializes in periodontics, where he focuses on the supporting structures of the teeth and the diseases and conditions that impact the teeth. He also has the honor to work as a clinical professor at the Harvard University Periodontics Department.
Abstract:
This presentation will provide rationale and the surgical technique of atraumatic teeth extraction to preserve surrounding alveolar bone. In addition, participants will understand the vital role of a wide array of biomaterials required for successful future implant therapy.
